Police will anticipate labors that will blockade the toll road that will trigger access obstruction.
Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA News) - Police tighten security at several entry gates of Tangerang toll road and Soekarno-Hatta airport in Tangerang, Banten province, in connection with Mayday on Wednesday.

"We guard the entry gates of the Tangerang toll road to avoid unwanted acts from thousands of workers who will hit to the street today to commemorate the Mayday," Tangerang Police Chief Senior Commissioner Bambang Priyo Andogo said on Wednesday.

He said fully equipped Police officers and several tactical vehicles were deployed around the entry gates of the freeway in Tangerang.

Bambang admitted police will anticipate labors that will blockade the toll road that will trigger access obstruction.

Several toll road entry gates which are guarded by the police include Kebon Nanas gateway in Tangerang City, Bitung gate way and Balaraja gate way in Tangerang District, as well as Bumi Serpong Damai gate way and Alam Sutera gate in S Tangerang.

Police will also guarded Soekarno Hatta Airport entry gate as the labors will gather in the area.

"The labors alliance has promise to conduct peaceful rally, however, we will take decisively effort if there is someone who violate the agreement," Bambang said.

He added that traffic police officers will guard the labors vehicle convoy to keep the public order.

Several labor alliances have agreeing to conduct peaceful rally and will not disturb public facilities.

Previously, Tangerang Rally Coordinator Koswara said the labors will centralize the rally action of Mayday in Soekarno Hatta Airport.

"Tangerang District labors will move to Soekarno Hatta Airport as our main rally area to voicing our demands. We will gather with colleges from Tangerang City," Koswara said.

The labor will voicing their demands on Mayday include the elimination of outsource recruitment system, improve wages and unilateral work discharge and urged government to nationalizing foreign assets.

Besides, the labors will ask government to protect women workers, eliminate union busting and free public service for civilians.(*)
