Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The composite share price index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) grew slightly 0.47 points on Wednesday morning to follow the regional trend.

The BEI index rose 0.01 percent to 5,043.26 points with the index of 45 mots liquid stock up by the same rate to 853.96 points, Samuel Sekuritas` analyst Benedictus Agung said here on Wednesday.

"The Asian market gained but the BEI index rose only slightly after significant increase in the past two days," he said.

According to him, significant increase in the prices of construction stocks may prompt profit taking.

He said gain recorded by the US market Tuesday night and Asian stocks on Wednesday morning were driven by expectation that China would release trade data later that day.

Sinarmas Sekuritas` analyst Christandi Rheza Mihardja said technically the BEI index should strengthen to around 5,000-5,062 points.

Regional markets Hang Seng recorded a 0.61 percent increase in index to 23,186.87 points, Nikkei-225 index rose 1.33 percent to 14,368.14 points and Straits Times posted a 0.81 percent increase in index to 3,410.89 points. (*)
