Cilacap, Central Java (ANTARA News) - The bodies of three executed criminals have been moved from the island of Nusakambangan off Cilacap, southern Central Java.

The three, who were sentenced to death for murders were executed early on Friday in the old former Nirbaya jailhouse on the island of Nusakambangan, a prisoner for heavy weight criminals.

Suryadi from Palembang, was convicted to death for murdering all members of a family in the South Sumatra capital in 1991 and Jurit and Ibrahim were condemned to death for premeditated murder in Sekayu in the regency of Banyuasin,in the same province in 2003.

The bodies were carried in three ambulances from the prison complex to the Sodong harbor in Nusakambangan to be ferried with the ambulances to Cilacap.

Upon arrival at the Cilacap port area, the same ambulances left the city followed by a number of cars carrying Central Java police guards and prosecutors from South Sumatra.

The ambulances carrying the bodies of Jurit and Ibrahim left for Yogyakarta from which they would be flown to Palembang to be buried there on request from their relatives, and the ambulance carrying the body of Suryadi headed for the public cemetery of Kalipasung in Cilacap, police said.
