The OBH`s will follow capacity building first to ensure they work appropriately based on our standard."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A number of 310 legal aid organizations (OBH) have passed verifications as legal aid agencies in the government`s legal assistance program for the poor and will get funds from the government.
"The 310 legal aid organizations which came from provinces in the country were verified. They are selected from 593 registered OBH," Law and Human Rights Minister Amir Syamsuddin said here on Monday.
Of the OBH passing the verifications, 79 came from Sumatra, 152 from Java, 14 from Kalimantan, 30 from Sulawesi, 20 from Bali and East Nusa Tenggara, and 15 others from Maluku and Papua.
The ministry will arrange the fund allocation for them.
"The OBH`s will follow capacity building first to ensure they work appropriately based on our standard," he said.
Amir added, the unverified OBH still can continue their law advocacy for the poor. They just will not get the fund from the ministry.
The government has allocated RP40.8 billion for verified OBHs in 2013.
"The unverified OBHs still have the right in advocating the poor but they will not get funds from government," he said.
