The data show the gap between entrepreneur-man and entrepreneur-women in range 30 percent in last decade."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Global Entrepreneurship Program Indonesia (GEPI) has channeled US$30,000 in fund to Wangsa Jelita Entrepreneurs group in effort to help increase the number of female entrepreneurs in the country.
"The fund is submitted in three stages," GEPI founder Shinta Widjaja Kamdani said here on Tuesday, adding that the lending channeling program is called Angin Women Angel Fund.
According to her, the number of women as entrepreneurs in Indonesia is less than men.
"The data show the gap between entrepreneur-man and entrepreneur-women in range 30 percent in last decade," Shinta said.
In 2000 the gap was 26 percent, 2002 (36 percent), 2004 (37 percent), 2006 (38 percent), 2008 (32 percent) and 2010 (34 percent).
Angin Women Angel Fund is the tools for women to help their business growth by its funding, mentoring, networking and business expansion.
One of Wangsa Jelita product is soap. It is composed by rose from flower farmer in Lembang sub-district, province of W Java.
Nadya Saiq, one of Wangsa Jelita founders, said his business not only for their profit but also encourage the living standard of local farmers.
"We saw some local farmers can`t sent their children to study in university caused their rose prize so cheap. So, we have tried to boost their rose prize to be more valuable," she said.
Angin Women Angel Fund is the GEPI`s program to facilitate and accelerate the business growth.
In developed countries, the similar program like angel investment is common. The angel investment has encouraged the people`s will to build their-own business.
Some examples of success angel investment are Google, Apple, Starbucks and Subway.
