Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s benchmark stock index fell again on Monday to close 85.91 points lower on minimum sentiment.

The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) fell 1.90 percent to 4,429.46 points.

"Minimum positive sentiment in the market put pressure again on the BEI index," Trust Securities` chief researcher Reza Priyambada said here on Monday.

Other Asian markets also suffered a fall, Reza said.

Panin Sekuritas` analyst Purwoko Sartono fear of Chinese slowdown also contributed to the fall in Asian markets including BEI index.

There were 158,891 transactions on Monday with 3.566 billion shares valued at Rp4.796 trillion changing hands.

Decliners far outnumbered gainers by 246 to 61.

Regional markets such as Hang Seng recorded a 2.22per cent fall in index to 19,813.98 points, Nikkei-225 reported a 1.26 percent decline to 13,062.78 points with Straits Times losing 1.42 percent to 3,080.07 points. (Uu.H-ASG/B003)
