Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the Merdeka Palace here on Thursday afternoon is scheduled to receive his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang who is on a state visit to Indonesia from Thursday to Friday.

In the company of First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, the head of state will receive President Truong Tan Sang and Vietnam`s First Lady Mai Tinh Hanh at 4 pm.

Presidential special staff for international relations Teuku Faizasyah said the state visit to Indonesia by Truong Tan Sang was the first since he was elected the president of Vietnam.

"Bilateral relations between Indonesia and Vietnam have been stronger since the past few years," Teuku said, adding that the two countries in 2003 reached a comprehensive partnership agreement to increase cooperation in various fields.

In economic cooperation, bilateral trade value between the two countries continued to increase since 2011 from US$4.7 billion to US$4.8 billion in 2012, and is expected to reach US$5 billion before 2015.

"During the state visit by President Truong Tan Sang, memorandum of understandings (MoUs) on cooperation in agriculture, and in extradition and mutual legal assistance will be signed before the two heads of state," Teuku said.

On May 27, 2013, an agreement on cooperation in corruption eradication was signed by Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Vietnamese government. ***1***
