Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Trade between Indonesia and Laos was increasing by 300 percent from US$9.9 million in 2011 to US$27 million in 2012, Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa said here on Thursday in a written statement.

"Bilateral relation between Indonesia and Laos during the past two years is at a promising stage with trade value increasing by 300 percent from 2011 to 2012," said the minister who is currently in Vientianne, Laos, to led the 4th Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between Laos and Indonesia along with his counterpart Minister Thonglun Sisoulith.

He said the joint commission meeting in Vientianne evaluates the progress of bilateral cooperation betwen the two countries while also identify new opportunities and challenges of the cooperation.

In economic and investment sector, both ministers agree to encourage meeting between entrepreneurs from the two countries . In people to people relation, both ministers are discussing the possibility of establishing a direct flight from Jakarta to Vientianne and vice versa.
