Various ideas, experiences and thoughts of the Indonesian architects who work in Europe will be summarized..."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian architects who are incorporated in the Indonesian Architecture Institute-European Union(IAI-EU) will discuss the development of Indonesian architectures in the Netherlands through an event named Rendezvous 2013.
"This event will be held on July 13 in Delft, the Netherlands, and will be participated in by Indonesian architects and the international society who are interested in this field," said a member of IAI-EU Gemawang Swaribathoro in a statement received by Antara here Thursday.
He explained Rendezvous 2013 was an event among Indonesian architecture professionals including academics to be acquainted through presentations as well as a discussion of researches in Indonesian architecture issues, and projects which are managed by European companies.
"Various ideas, experiences and thoughts of the Indonesian architects who work in Europe will be summarized from this event as well as the application in the homeland," Gemawang, who works at Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, said.
Of the programs that will be held at the Rendezvous 2013 are presentation of architecture projects by Indonesian architects who work in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Besides, the Dutch architecture company MVRDV will also participate to explain the project of Peruri88 tower development as high as 400 meters to be built in Jakarta.
Another Dutch company is OMA which designs SSI tower in Jakarta.
"This activity is in line with one of the organization`s mission namely to promote Indonesian architects in Europe," Gemawang said, adding that Rendezvous 2013 has the support from the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague and the Royal Netherlands embassy in Jakarta.
Previously the organization, which was established on August 10, 2011, had a collective housing exhibition from the Dutch architectural companies in 2012 held in Jakarta besides the Indonesian architecture exhibition at Pasar Malam Indonesia (Indonesia Fair) 2012 in The Hague.
"Another mission of IAI-EU is to bridge the knowledge exchange between European and Indonesian architects through exhibitions, lectures, and other public events," Gemawang said.
