Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The House of Representatives (DPR) endorsed nine members of the Indonesian Broadcast Commission (KPI) for the 2013-2016 term at its plenary session here on Thursday.

DPR Deputy Chairman Priyo Budi Santoso who led the meeting banged the gavel endorsing the election of the KPI members after lawmakers present expressed their agreement.

Earlier, chairman of the House Commission I Mahfudz Siddiq reported the results of a fit and proper test conducted on 27 candidates for KPI members on July 3.

He said the House Commission chose seven candidates who had got the majority votes as KPI members for the 2013-2916 term.

"We chose seven KPI members by voting," he said.

The House Commission I expressed hope that the nine newly-elected KPI members would show their best performance to present broadcast contents of good quality by cooperating with other institutes.

The nine KPI members for the 2013-2016 term are Bekti Nugroho, Judhariksawan, Agatha Lily, Azimah Subagijo, Idy Muzayyad, Amirudin, Sujarwanto Rahmat Muhammad Arifin, Danang Sangga Buwana, and Fajar Arifianto Isnugroho.

The House Commission I also named Iswandi Syahputra, Ezki Tri Rezeki Widianti, Nina Muthmainah Armando, and Muhammad Zen Al Faqih as substitute members.(*)
