I have relatives in Solo and I am a resident of Jakarta."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his family will also follow the "Mudik Lebaran" tradition by returning to their hometown after the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, like most other residents of Jakarta.

"I will go home to Solo (Central Java) on the third day of Lebaran (Idul Fitri holidays)," said Joko Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, here on Thursday.

The Jakarta governor made the statement before beginning his "kampung" visits to five areas in the capital city of Jakarta to meet with the residents there.

"I have the obligation to visit my parents in my kampong, just the same way as other people who go to their hometowns," Jokowi explained.

When asked about his preferred place for celebrating Idul Fitri holidays, the governor said with a smile that he liked both Jakarta and Solo.

"I have relatives in Solo and I am a resident of Jakarta," Jokowi pointed out.

The only difference is, he noted, Idul Fitri celebrations in Jakarta take place in a metropolitan atmosphere.
