Jakarta police spokesman Senior Commissioner Rikwanto described the suspects as allegedly being terrorists.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Following the killing of two policemen, a manhunt is being carried out by the anti-terrorist squad Densus 88 from the National Police headquarters and a special team from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

The police officers - Chief Brigadier Maulana and First Adjunct Inspector Kus Hendratna - died after being shot by gunmen in Pondok Aren, Tangerang, on Friday night.

"We have set up a joint team of police members from the National Police headquarters, the Metropolitan Police Command, South Jakarta and Tangerang police resorts involving Densus 88," Jakarta police spokesman Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said here on Saturday.

He described the suspects as allegedly being terrorists.

Densus 88 is also hunting down those responsible for recent attacks on First Adjunct Inspector Dwiatno and Second Adjunct Inspector Patah Saktiyono.

Following the shooting that led to the death of Kus Hendratna and Maulana on Friday, the police have so far questioned five witnesses, including a show owner, a security guard and police members.(*)
