"Her appeal was rejected," Supreme Court`s presiding Judge Artidjo Alkostar said.
Jakarta, Aug 30 (Antara) - The Supreme Court turned down an appeal from Lindsay June Sandiford (56)of Britain maintaining her death sentence given by a district court earlier.

Sandiford, who was charged with possession of 3.7 kilograms of cocaine, was earlier sentenced to death by a Denpasar district court in Bali.

"Her appeal was rejected," Supreme Court`s presiding Judge Artidjo Alkostar said here on Thursday night, adding, no dissenting opinion in rejecting the appeal.

Artidjo said Lindsay, whose appeal earlier was already rejected by the Denpasar high court, is in the category of importers of narcotics.

Three other suspects in the same case, Julian Anthony Ponder, Paul Beales and Rachel Lisa Dougall, were meted out with six years, four years and a year prison terms respectively.(*)
