Jakarta, Sept 2 (Antara) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned former parliament member from Democrat Party Angelina Sondakh with regard to alleged corruption in the construction of sporting venues for the National Games (PON) event.

"Angelina has been questioned as a witness for suspect Riau province`s Governor Rusli Zainal," KPK`s Chief of Information Division Priharsa Nugraha said here on Monday.

Rusli Zaenal is charged with Regulation Number 20/2001 and regulation Number 55 Article 1 about ban for government officials to accept bribe money or presents in return for his influence.

The governor is also charged for allegedly giving bribes to several regional lawmakers to ease off regulation for the construction of National Game`s venue in Riau province.

Rusli denies the allegation towards him saying that he has no involvement in the construction project.

Up till now KPK has named 13 suspects in the case where 10 among them are members of Riau Legislative Council. Three suspects have been sentenced to four years in jail, they are Faisal Aswan (Golkar party), M Dunir (PKB party) and Taufan Andoso (PAN).

Meanwhile the rest seven lawmakers are still on detention center waiting for trial. They are Adrian Ali (PAN), Abu Bakar Siddiq (Golkar), Tengku Muhazza (Democrat), Zulfan Heri (Golkar), Syarif Hidayat, Muhamad Rum Zein (PPP), Turaoechman Asy`ari (PDIP).

KPK has also questioned Golkar party`s Chief in the House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto, former Youth and Sports Minister Andi Malaranggeng, member of Commission X at the House of Representatives Kahar Muzakir and Vice Chairman of Commission X at the House of Representatives Utut Adiyanto.

Last August 21, Angelina was also questioned as witness in bribery case on the construction of sports venue in Hambalang, West Java province, involving former Democrat Party`s Chairman Anas Urbaningrum.
