"In the 22 shooting cases, the police managed to catch only one of the perpetrators," said Chairman of the Presidium of the IPW Neta S Pane.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - In the last three months, the Indonesian Police Watch (IPW) has recorded as many as 22 mysterious shooting cases in Indonesia, and in five of the cases, police officers were victims.
"In the 22 shooting cases, the police managed to catch only one of the perpetrators," said Chairman of the Presidium of the IPW Neta S Pane in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Neta added that the shooting modi were numerous, making it difficult to understand if the series of shooting were carried out by terrorists groups.
Ironically, the shootings of police officers have yet to be revealed until now, whereas shootings, beatings, and stabbings to police personnel still occur.
"The IPW expects the police, especially Jakarta Police, to investigate the case and put an end to this shooting spree," he said.
IPW is concerned that these shootings may raise concerns over the security of citizens.
"How can the police protect the public if they cannot protect themselves?" he asked.
