Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono chaired a cabinet meeting on Wednesday to discuss the nation`s economic progress and the government`s achievements in the economic sector.

"The aim of the meeting was to discuss economic management efforts," said President Yudhoyono.

The head of state noted that economic issues were dominant in three cabinet meetings because of the uncertain global economic condition and its impact on the national economy.

"We have to work in accordance with the system and mechanism to reap positive results," he noted.

The meeting commenced at 2 p.m. and was attended by Vice President Boediono, related economic ministers, National Defense Forces (TNI) Chief Gen Moeldoko, National Police Chief Gen Timur Pradopo, and a number of officials, including members of the Presidential Advisory Council.
