Bukittinggi, W Sumatra (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono greeted local residents while having a morning walk here on Wednesday.

The President and party began the morning walk in Bukittinggi city which was well-known for its Grand Clock at 6.3 a.m Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and marched to the Agam Military District square.

The President, after the walk, also watched a volleyball friendly match between the Jakarta team and that of the local government.

The Jakarta team included Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Chairman of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Irman Gusman, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Attorney General Basrief Arief and Commander of the Presidential Guards Force (Paspampres) May. Gen. Doni Monardo.

After witnessing the volleyball match, the President and party headed to Bukittinggi downtown to observe the "Ngarai Sianok" in the city.

On Wednesday noon, the president is scheduled to inaugurate the "Kelok Sembilan` bridge and observe the Pagaruyung Palace before leaving for Padang city.

The President will attend the World Food Day ceremony in Padang before returning to Jakarta on Thursday.
