Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian inflation was 0.09 percent month to month in October, 2013 or lower than in the same month in previous years, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said.

Inflation in the same month was 0.16 percent in 2012, and 0.12 percent in 2011 and 0.45 percent in 2008, BPS chief Suryamin said here on Friday.

Cumulatively, the country`s inflation was 7.66 percent in the first ten months of the year with year-on-year inflation at 8.32 percent in October.

Suryamin attributed the inflation more to price hikes of certain commodities including foodstuff, housing , utilities, transport, and financial services.

The highest inflation rate was recorded in the North Sumatra`s western coastal city of Sibolga with inflation of 1.25 percent and h the highest deflation of 3.82 percent was recorded in Ambon, Maluku.(*)
