"The vice president is visiting Australia at the invitations of three major universities," Vice President Deputy Secretary for Political Affairs Dewi Fortuna Anwar said here on Sunday.
Using RI 2 Presidential Plane Boeing 737-400, the Vice President took off at Halim Perdanakusma airport in East Jakarta.
Dewi Fortuna Anwar said that the Vice Presidents visit was related to administration, education and economic fields.
Accompanying the Vice President included Education and Culture Minister Mohammad Nuh, Deputy Speaker of the House of Consultative Assembly (MPR)Hajrianto Yasin, Minister of Administrative Reforms Azwar Abubakar and other state officials.
The Vice President is also scheduled to hold a meeting with Indonesian citizens in Australia.
