"Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Yudhoyono held a meeting here on Tuesday, with Chairman of Gerindra Party's Advisory Council Prabowo Subianto, to discuss the latest political situation in the run up to the general elections 2014.
"We had a discussion, where he shared his views on the current economic and political developments. It was a very productive meeting, creating good vibes as we head to the year 2014, the year of politics," stated Subianto after the meeting.
He pointed out that the President and he had shared similar views on creating a smooth and peaceful political year, so important decisions could be made harmoniously with the interest of the nation in mind.
Subianto added that he came to meet the President not only as a politician and businessman but also as a good friend.
"He was my senior and we were partners in our common duties (in military). So, I think the meeting was friendly and very productive," he emphasized.
After the 45-minute meeting with Subianto, Yudhoyono received former minister Yusril Mahendra and appointed a number of Indonesian ambassadors to be posted in several countries.
