He arrived at the venue at around 7.30pm where thousands of cadres and board members have already gathered.
The event was closed for reporters but at the gate before entering the venue he greeted the newsmen saying "thank you."
The event was also attended by participants of the partys convention held to choose the partys presidential candidate for the election in July this year such as Dino Pati Djalal, Marzuki Alie, Pramono Edhie Wibowo and Dahlan Iskan.
Marzuki Alie who is also a house speaker said on the occasion that he attended the event just to meet with cadres. "It is just to meet with cadres," he said.
This is Yudhoyonos first meeting with cadres of Jakarta this year following the detention of the former partys chief, Anas Urbaningrum by the Corruption Eradication Commission.
