The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) opened 0.05 percent higher at 4,386.54 points with the index of 45 most liquid stocks up 0.08 percent to 734.58 percent.
Head of Research of Valbury Asia Securities, Alfiansyah, said market player see the countrys GDP in 2013 as positive giving good sentiment to the domestic market.
"The countrys GDP grew 5.78 percent in 2013," he said.
He said the majority of other Asian markets also recorded gain on Thursday morning .
In addition, stable rupiah also contributed to the BEI index gain.
"The BEI index has the potential to extend gain today to reach the levels of 4,321-4,419 points," he said.
Regional markets such as Hang Seng recorded a 0.64 percent increase in index to 21,405.18 points , with Nikkei index up 0.18 percent to 14,205.41 points and that of Straits Times gaining 0.84 percent to 2,984.91 points. (*)
