"I consider this an insult to a state institution, the Supreme Court," Gayus said upon arrival at the police criminal agency with three Supreme Court lawyers on Wednesday.
He said the story presented by Trans7 alleging him of receiving Rp700 million from Julia Perez, had certain motivation.
"There is a regulation on journalistic story presentation. The damage caused by the news presentation should be considered as it involves a state institution," he said.
He called on the mass media to be careful in presenting a story, adding, "this should serve a lesson to the broadcasting institution to be aware of the strong impact of any news presentation in this era of democracy."
He said he came to police rather than lodging his complaint with the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission as he considered the news presentation more as a criminal offense rather than a matter of ethics. (*)
