"I ask you to vote for Democratic Party at number seven to keep moving forward, instead of backward, for another five years ahead," Yudhoyono requested.
Bantul, Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has delivered a 20-minute oration during the Democratic Partys campaign in Bantul, Yogyakarta on Monday.

"I ask you to vote for Democratic Party at number seven to keep moving forward, instead of backward, for another five years ahead," Yudhoyono requested.

Yudhoyono, who came to Bantul with his wife Ani Yudhoyono and son Edhie Baskoro, also asked his supporters to stay with Democratic Party in order to ensure the progress and continuity of the people-oriented program initiated during the two periods of his governance.

During the 20-minute oration, the president, who is also the Democratic Party Supervisors Chairman, stressed that his party was doing real action, instead of making empty promises.

After delivering his speech, Yudhoyono stepped down from the podium to greet the Democratic Partys constituents and supporters at the Pendowoharjo Field in Bantul, Yogyakarta, for about 40 minutes.

The campaign in Bantul was the first time during the legislative elections campaign that Yudhoyono attended after he cancelled his participation in Magelang, Central Java, on Sunday (March 16) due to his presidential work of leading the haze disaster mitigation in Riau.

During the campaign in Magelang, Yudhoyono sent his oration through a video message, which explained that as president, he had to make the needs of the people his first priority.(*)
