We should be convinced that Golkar will win thinly over PDI-PJakarta (ANTARA News) - Secretary General of the Golkar Party Idrus Marham stated that his party will thinly win over the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) which has secured the first place based on quick counts.
"We should be convinced that Golkar will win thinly over PDI-P in Wednesdays legislative elections," Idrus noted after monitoring the preliminary results of quick counts at Golkars Success Team Coordination Office here on Wednesday.
He was monitoring the results of four survey institutes quick counts which positioned Golkar in the second place after PDI-P.
The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle led the preliminary result of quick vote count by the Jakarta-based pollster, the Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) in the parliamentary election on Wednesday evening.
PDI-P gained 19.45 percent of votes tallied by LSI from a number of polling stations. The votes represented 48.75 percent of votes received by the pollster.
The Golkar Party came second with 15.32 percent, and the Greater Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party finished third with 11.76 percent.
In the fourth place was the ruling Democrat Party with 10.12 percent.
LSI executive director Denny JA pointed out that the result of ballot count continued to move dynamically. Yet, the tendency of highly rated parties vote tallies could be monitored.
The result of quick vote count by LSI can also be watched on one of the national private television stations.
Earlier, LSI also published the predicted map of support for political parties put in LSIs Four Predictions ahead of the April 9 elections.
A total of about 185.8 eligible voters had been registered for Wednesdays legislative elections. They elected legislators for 560 seats in the House of Representatives (DPR) and 132 members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) in the Parliament.
