Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called on all central and regional government officials to continue maintaining the economy and political stability ahead of the presidential election.

"We know the domestic situation right now is dominated by political dynamics, the presidential and vice presidential issue. Managing the planning and the programs in the field of economy, however, remains important," he said before holding a limited cabinet meeting on the draft revised national budget 2014 and the 2015 budget here on Tuesday.

In view of that, the President appealed to all central and regional government officials to continue to maintain economic and political stability.

"I appeal to all of you to continue to manage our economy well," he said.

Indonesia plans to hold a presidential election on July 9, following the legislative election on April 9.

President Yudhoyono will not contest in the election as he is not allowed to by law, which bars him from contesting in the presidential election for holding the position for two terms. (*)
