Coriant’s 7090 Solution Increases Flexibility at the Metro Edge, EnsuringPerformance Reliability and Efficient End-to-End Service Delivery

Jakarta, 11 June 2014– Coriant, a global supplier of dynamic metro-to-core transport solutions, announced today that TransIndonesia Network, a provider of wholesale bandwidth services in Indonesia, has selected the Coriant7090 Packet Transport Platform to extend packet-based multiservice capabilities to the access and aggregation segments of its network. The Coriant 7090 solution enables TransIndonesia Network to support efficient and scalable Ethernet aggregation in the access segment of its network, while simplifying edge-to-core service provisioning and network management with Coriant TNMS. The Coriant solution will also provide direct access forbusiness customers and serve as an extension to TransIndonesia Network’s high-capacity Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) infrastructure network based on Coriant’s hiT 7300 Optical Transport Platform.

“Delivering scalable and reliable bandwidth services on an end-to-end basis enables us to offer our customers greater capabilities as their bandwidth needs continue to grow,” said Andy McLean, Chief Executive Officer, TransIndonesia Network. “As a trusted supplier with a highly competitive solution offering, Coriant made metro edge-to-optical core service provisioning possible, while at the same time, helping us improve utilization of our transport network resources with improved visibility and control.”

The Coriant 7090 solution was selected by TransIndonesia Network to optimize its network in Jakarta, thusoffering an extension to, and supporting 10G services for, access and metro sites. Coriant’ssolution includes TNMS, a common NMS for seamless service management in multi-layer packet-optical architectures which enables simplified service provisioning and network deployment. Combined withCoriant’s 7090 platform and hiT 7300 coherent LH/ULH optical transport system, the Coriantofferingenablesfully-integrated end-to-end provisioning capabilities for efficient and flexible “any-service” transport across TransIndonesia Network’s access, aggregation and core network segments.

“Innovation at the edge of the network can create differentiation and expand the breadth of services a wholesale provider can offer its business customers,” said Uwe Fischer, Chief Technology Officer, Coriant. “By tightly coupling service innovation at the edge with a high-performance optical core network using integrated, software-defined intelligence, service providers can significantly multiply the value of their transport infrastructure. We are pleased to extend our valued relationship with TransIndonesia Network by implementing this powerful end-to-end capability.”

A recent addition to Coriant’s portfolio of packet optical solutions, Coriant 7090 is an efficient and scalable MPLS-TP-based Packet Transport Network (PTN) solution. Combining the best of TDM (SDH, OTN) and packet transport (IP/MPLS, Ethernet), it enables fixed-line and mobile network operators to achieve significant efficiencies with packet-based multiservice support, while ensuring connection-oriented Quality of Service (QoS) for a mix of TDM and packet services.
