We clarify that no such share purchase took place."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The economic team of Indonesian presidential candidate pair Prabowo-Hatta Rajasa has denied the rumors that they have purchased media giant MNC Groups shares worth Rp869.8 billion.

"I wish to clarify that the rumor is purely misleading. We clarify that no such share purchase took place," said the candidate pairs economic teams spokesperson Sandiaga S Uno here on Friday.

Such miscommunication could occur due to data-hacking activity in the domestic share market, Sandiaga added.

"The information might have been hacked, as it was indicated on Thursday (June 19). We have been demanding a clarification from the Bloomberg office in Hong Kong," Sandiaga said.

The candidate pairs campaign team secretary Fadly Zon also expressed his views on the shares owned by Indonesian media mogul Hary Tanoesoedibjo.

"I have not purchased any shares. To my knowledge, Prabowo or his campaign team have never purchased shares," Fadly Zon stressed.

Previously, the allegedly-hacked Indonesia Stock Exchange data revealed that account Prabowo-Hatta had purchased shares from a number of companies, including Bhakti Investama (BHIT), Media Nusantara Citra (MNCN), Global Mediacom (BMTR), and Global Land Development (KPIG) owned by Hary Tanoesoedibjo.
