UnionPay International, the provider of global payment services for UnionPay cards (card numbers starting with 62), today announced that its cardholder preferential package will expand to cover 40 core business and retail districts as it upgrades its cardholder benefits following a global cardholder preferential service program launched in April across 60 major airports around the world.
Based on insights gained from an analysis of cardholder needs and purchase behavior trends, UnionPay International has tailored this current promotion to 40 core commercial districts across 20 countries and territories worldwide, including 30 well-known shopping centers and more than 1,000 premium merchants across popular travel destinations worldwide, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. From July 15, 2014, in addition to the industry-exclusive UnionPay International currency conversion fee waiver equivalent to 1-2% of the total transaction value that applies to all types of UnionPay cards, UnionPay cardholders will enjoy an extended merchant discount of up to 10%.
