"God willing, God willing (MK neutral)," Prabowo saidJakarta (ANTARA News) - Prabowo Subianto, who lost in the 2014 presidential election, expressed optimism that the Constitutional Court (MK) will be neutral and independent in investigating cases of alleged violations in the election.
"God willing, God willing (MK neutral)," Prabowo said after attending an iftar with his running mate, Hatta Rajasa, and the red-white coalition team at the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) office here on Thursday.
Prabowo, who did not talk much to the media on the occasion, denied an issue on the "disappearance" of Hatta Rajasa after the announcement of the presidential election recapitulation results by the General Elections Commission (KPU) on July 22.
Apart from that Prabowo merely smiled to reporters.
"Thank you," Prabowo said, as he went to his vehicle.
Meanwhile, the team of lawyers of Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa will file a lawsuit with the MK against the KPU.
Chairman of the Prabowo-Hattas team of lawyers Firman Wijaya said they had accumulated evidence to support the lawsuit, which will be used by the MK.
"We will file the lawsuit tomorrow. We have evidence in the form of data and oral evidence as testimony," Firman said here on Thursday.
He said the team was waiting for the KPU to hand over the recapitulation of the result of the presidential election.
Presidential candidate Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and his running mate Jusuf Kalla "JK" won Indonesias 2014 presidential election as announced by the KPU here on Tuesday night.
Jokowi-JK pair had secured 70,990,832 votes or 53.15 percent of the total 133,567,276 of the national valid votes.
While his rival, Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa, had received 62,576,444 votes or 46.85 percent.
KPU was mandated by the constitution to officially announce the election result on July 22, 2014.
The elected president and vice president, Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla, will be inaugurated on October 20, 2014, before serving a five-year term.
On July 22, Tuesday, Prabowo Subianto voiced disapproval to the implementation of the 2014 presidential election and withdrew from the ongoing process where the KPU was holding the national recapitulation meeting.
"We reject the 2014 presidential election, and we are, therefore, withdrawing from the process. We are not willing to sacrifice the peoples mandate for us," Prabowo stated during a press conference at his camp, Polonia House, in Jakarta, on Tuesday.
According to Prabowo, the presidential election was not democratic and against the constitution, and the KPU, as a committee, was not fair or transparent.
Indonesia had organized a free and democratic presidential election on July 9, 2014, which was contested by only two pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates--Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa and Jokowi-JK.
Prabowo Subianto is a retired military general and the chairman of Gerindra (Great Indonesia Movement) Party, while his running mate, Hatta Rajasa, is a former coordinating minister for economic affairs and the chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN).
Jokowi is Jakartas governor and a cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), and his running mate, JK, is a former vice president and a senior politician of the Golkar Party.(*)
