Ramallah (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - Two Palestinian teenagers were shot dead during confrontations with Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, Palestinian medical sources said Saturday.

A 16-year-old boy was killed in the West Bank city of Bethlehem during violent protests over Israels Gaza military campaign, and another teenager died during clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian demonstrators in Jenin city, health officials said.

On Friday, seven Palestinians were killed in the West Bank in separate clashes.

Fierce confrontations erupted Friday and continued early on Saturday between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians who protested the ongoing Israeli military operation against the Gaza Strip.

Since the Israeli offensive began on July 8, at least 866 Palestinians have been killed and more than 5,700 injured. Israel has lost four civilians and 29 soldiers so far.

Israel and Hamas agreed early on Saturday to a 12-hour humanitarian truce proposed by the United Nations, as international efforts continued to push for a seven-day ceasefire.
