Dili, Timor Leste (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhyono stated that he will hear more from president-elect Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the meeting in the Indonesian resort island of Bali on Wednesday evening.

"I will hear more about any issue that Pak (Mr) Jokowi wishes to speak or ask or know about governance and government policies," he told journalists before leaving Dili, Timor Lestes capital, for Bali on Wednesday.

President Yudhoyono said he will express his thoughts and views about things required to run the government if he was asked to do so at subsequent meetings with Jokowi.

The president stated that he will do that as he did not want to be accused of annoying the new government by providing inputs or views that Jokowi did not seek.

"At the next meeting, I will express my views on anything he requires to run his government, including those related to domestic and international policies and our roles in international arena, such as G20, if Pak Jokowi wants."

"Instead, if Pak Jokowi feels that it is enough, I think it is unnecessary (to provide inputs and views)," President Yudhoyono remarked.

President-elect Jokowi assumes office as president of Indonesia on October 20, 2014, amid serious issues the nation has been facing, such as poverty, corruption, and restriction of oil reserves.

In dealing with the increasing use of subsidized fuels that has burdened the state budget, the present government has implemented a policy of restricting the use of subsidized fuels.

The policy, however, has triggered scarcity of diesel and gasoline stocks across the country.

According to the University of Atmajayas economist, A Prasetyantoko, the government of Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla (Jokowi-JK) might have to raise the prices of oil fuels (BBM) to reduce the subsidy burden.

"The government of Jokowi-JK will likely have to inherit heavy burden from its predecessor," Prasetyantoko added.
