"I came to extend an invitation to the Golkar Partys reception to mark its 50th anniversary," Aburizal Bakrie stated at the Vice Presidential Office.
Ical, as the Golkar Party chairman is popularly known, humorously remarked that he had invited Kala in his capacity as the partys general chairman.
"I invited him as I am the general chairman, and I am only his successor," he stated.
Kalla was ready to attend the reception, he confirmed.
The presence of the vice president at the reception had nothing to do with the cabinet lineup, Ical said.
"We will not discuss the cabinet. What is my business with the cabinet," he stated in a lighter vein.
