In a written statement received here on Sunday the general chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) said the MOUs were among others signed by PT Zadasa with Shen Zhen Tian He Wei Hang with involving an investment of US$5.510 million, PT Resteel Industry with China Railway Construction, PT Eka Sampoerna Sukses with Fujian Yinhai Group involving an investment of US$1.3 million, Maspion Group with Shining Resources involving a total investment of US$100 million for smelter development.
Other companies signing the MOUs are Global Sukses Group, Cahaya Sukses International with Fujian Tian Mao involving an investment of US$1.5 million, PT Wijaya Infrastruktur Indonesia with Golden Mega Internatinal Holdings involving US$120 million, PT Integral Mining Nusantara with Jiangsu Wei-Wei Mining involving an investment of US$775 million, PT Sinar Sukses Mandiri with Zhong Ji Hao involving an investment of US$360 million.
PT Indonesia Energy Prima signed an MOU with SDIC International Trade involving an investment of US$350 million, PT Kayan Hydro Energy with Shanghai Electric Power involving an investment of up to US$17.8 billion, PT Adaro Power with China Shenhua Overseas and PT MAESA Optimalah Mineral with Vansun Holding Group.
"Indonesia must strive to get a benefit from regional and bilateral partnerships optimally for the welfare of the people, including with China with which Indonesia has had relations for a long time," Suryo said.
He said ASEAN regional cooperation has also continued to develop vertically because of the implementation of ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, and horizontally with other countries.
Kadin, he said, would take efforts and conduct cooperation orientation with other countries especially China which is considered very strategic.
"We welcome Chinas wish to develop 21st Century Silk Road to boost the realization of the vision of Indonesia as a maritime state," he said.
The chairman of Kadin took part in the Indonesia-China Business Forum in Beijing which was opened by President Joko Widodo.
President Joko Widodo is currently in China for a visit until November 11 that includes attending an Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) meeting.
After China President Joko Widodo will visit Myanmar for an ASEAN summit and Australia for a G20 summit.
The meetings have been considered very important for the national interest.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the national interests include increasing investment to develop infrastructure in various regions in the country.
Indonesia needs a lot of investment to support various development programs including "toll sea" to realize the maritime axis envisioned by President Joko Widodo.
