"There will be no limit (of time) to find the missing aircraft," Kalla said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the government did its best to find the missing AirAsia Flight QZ 8501 and would not restrict the time for searching the ill-fated passsenger jet.
"There will be no limit (of time) to find the missing aircraft," he told journalists in a press conference held shortly after his arrival at Juanda International Airport in the East Java city of Surabaya on Monday afternoon.
Kalla said the government also conveys its deepest sympathy to the families of the ill-fated jets passengers and has launched a massive search operation which has been underway since the day the aircraft lost contact with the air traffic control tower on Sunday.
In his visit to Juanda International Airport to meet with the relatives of the missing aircrafts passengers of the missing Airbus A320-200 jet, Jusuf Kalla was accompanied by his wife Mufidah Kalla and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Puan Maharani.
Meanwhile, Oen Yon Hok, mother of Ruth Natalia M Puspitasari (26) who got on board of AirAsias Flight QZ 8501, said she wanted to leave Blitar for Juanda International Airport to know the fate of her daughter.
"I am prepared for going to Surabaya to seek for latest information," she said.
According to Chief of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) F.H.Bambang Sulistyo, the search operation, which has been launched since Sunday, focused on seven targeted sectors by using aircraft, helicopters, and vessels from the military, police and Basarnas.
Acting Director General of Air Transportation Djoko Murdjatmojo said on Sunday that the aircraft might lose contact at 06.17 am when it flew between Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province, and Tanjung Pandan in Bangka Belitung Province.
"The aircraft has lost contact at 06.17 am (Western Indonesian Standard Time). It just lost contact. We do not have another assumption," he said.(*)
