"In line with recommendations from the National Energy Council (DEN) and the Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR), we should catch the downward trend of oil prices as an opportunity to build up national fuel stocks," he said in a press statement released on Sunday.
The government has decided that the prices of gasoline and diesel oil as of February 1, 2015 remain the same as those set on January 19, 2015.
"The reference prices are relatively stable so that we decided to maintain the prices at the same level as of January 19, 2015," Secretary General of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Teguh M Pamuji said after a working meeting between the House Commission VII and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said here on Thursday (January 29).
With the decision, the price of gasoline outside Java and Bali remains at Rp6,600 per liter as of February 1, 2015.
The prices of subsidized diesel oil and kerosene remain at Rp6,400 and Rp2,500 per liter respectively.
The fuel prices as of February 1, 2015 are based on the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) from January 17 to 24, 2015.
"Up till now the global oil prices still show a downward trend although the decline was not too significant in the past week," he said.(*)
