"Indonesia will host the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference in April 2015 and will revive the spirit of the Asia-Africa cooperation," Retno stated here on Monday.
According to Retno, solidarity, partnership, and cooperation are needed for the sake of the unification of the world.
"Therefore, the spirit of the importance of the Asia-Africa cooperation must be reaffirmed," she emphasized.
Indonesia has been making preparations for the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference, which will be held from April 19 to 24, 2015.
"The President has given relevant directives through a cabinet meeting. The preparations have started. The Foreign Ministry has been coordinating with stakeholders for the smooth implementation of the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference," Acting Director of Asia-Pacific-Africa Cooperation Ferdy Piay revealed.
He remarked that the first five days (April 19-23) of the conference will be held in Jakarta, while the concluding session will be held in Bandung on April 24, 2015.
"The Asian-African Conference will start on April 19 with a meeting of officials at Jakarta, followed by a meeting of ministers," he noted.
Meanwhile, the Asia-Africa Summit meeting will be held on April 22-23 in Jakarta. Leaders from several Asian and African countries will gather in Bandung on April 24.
