Semarang, Central Java (ANTARA News) - The Central Java police have prepared 140 personnel for assignment as members of the firing squad tasked with carrying out the execution order for ten convicts in Nusakambangan.

"We are ready," Central Java police chief Inspector General Nur Ali said here on Friday.

He noted, however, that he did not yet know when the execution would take place, adding that he is still waiting for instructions from the attorney general.

He explained that each Death-Row convict will face 14 executioners assigned from the Mobile Brigade of the Central Java police command.

On a separate occasion, the Central Java prosecutors office spokesman Eko Suwarni confirmed that it had coordinated with the regional police command to prepare the execution squad.

"It has all been arranged. We are still awaiting instructions from the attorney general on when to implement the execution plan," he said.

The 10 convicts to be executed are Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran from Australia, Marry Jane Fiesto Veloso from the Philippines, Serge Areski Atlaoui from France, Silvester Obiekwe Nwolise and Okwudili Oyatanze from Nigeria, Rodrigo Gularte from Brazil, Martin Anderson from Ghana, Zainal Abidin from Indonesia and Raheem Agbaje Salam from Spain.(*)
