WUYUAN, China, March 31, 2015 (Antara/PRNewswire) -- The terraced canola flower hills of Jiangling, Wuyuan, reputed as one of the most beautiful towns in China for viewing the exquisite flower, has attracted numerous visitors from around the country during the blossom season that started in the middle of March. According to available statistics, over 200,000 visitors made the trek to Wuyuan during the weekend days of Saturday, March 21st and Sunday, March 22nd, this year's spring solstice weekend.
The first episode of "Signs of Spring", a feature documentary currently running on China's 24-hour national news channel CCTV News, focused on the famous canola flower spot in Jiangling. The coverage of the canola fields during the closely watched sessions guaranteed a high level of visibility for the tourist spot.

Jiangling's botanic beauty attracts Chinese celebrities
Renowned Chinese singer Yang Yuying was immediately surrounded by a horde of on-site visitors immediately after showing up unexpectedly in Jiangling on March 19th. Yang appreciated the beauty of the canola flowers and chatted warmly with the visitors before heading to several other scenic spots around the town, including Xiaoqi and Jiangwan. After visiting these spots, the singer wrote a review on her blog about the famous town: "I came back to Wuyuan after a long time and hope my hometown, the most beautiful town in China, is doing well."
Jiangling's beauty makes it a natural as a backdrop for many of China's film and TV productions, with production teams from across the country on site at any time filming. Yuan Xiang, a popular TV series currently being broadcast on CCTV-1 and Nuan, a film adapted from the novel White Dog Swing by Chinese author and Nobel Prize in Literature Mo Yan, have chosen Jiangling as the filming location.
