"Their departure will most likely be delayed as we have not received a landing permit until now," Ambassador Wiranata-atmadja noted at the Kathmandu Guest House command post, here on Tuesday.
The 26 nationals include tourists and also Indonesians who lived in Nepal. Some 30 members of the Indonesian evacuation team and journalists will also return home on the same day.
A total of 56 Indonesians will fly to Jakarta on board an Indonesian Air Forces Boeing 737, which is currently at the Dhaka Airport, Bangladesh, awaiting a landing permit from the Nepalese authorities.
After the permit is received, the Indonesian aircraft is scheduled to depart from Tribhuvan Airport, Kathmandu, at 7 a.m. local time, on Wednesday, and is expected to land at the Halim Perdana Kusumah, Jakarta, on Wednesday evening, after making a brief transit in Aceh for refueling.
The ambassador remarked that he had sent a letter requesting for a landing permit from the Nepalese authorities, who responded by saying that the Indonesian aircraft could take off from Tribhuvan Airport on Wednesday morning, at the latest.
