In a statement to the press here on Friday, UNRWA invited people to join it by donating to UNRWA's education program in Gaza, spreading the campaign on social media and posting photos and videos of a bottles travelling activity.
The bottles travelling, called SOS4Gaza, features seven children putting messages expressing their hopes and dreams in bottles, which they then send them to sea.
The campaign, based around a film that features the children of Gaza against a backdrop of devastation caused by last year's conflict, is championed by UNRWA Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Youth and Arab Idol star, Mohammad Assaf.
"Despite all challenges, children in Gaza have dreams and want a future, like every other child in the world," said UNRWA Commissioner-General Pierre Krahenbuhl.
"The campaign comes at a time of particular need among Palestine refugees," said Krahenbuhl, adding that he hopes that people are inspired by the children to give generously.
Established by the UN General Assembly in 1949, UNRWA is a United Nations agency mandated to provide assistance and protection to some 5 million registered Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
