Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur will host a series of meetings in early August that focuses on regional cooperation among the 10-member ASEAN and its dialogue partners such as China, Japan, United States, India and Russia.

Malaysia, which assumed the annual rotating chairmanship of ASEAN beginning January 1, 2015, will be hosting the 48th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (48th AMM), the 16th ASEAN Plus Three Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the 5th East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers Meeting, and the 22nd ASEAN Regional Forum.

To be held from August 1 to 6, 2015 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, the meetings, among others, will discuss the follow-up actions to the 26th ASEAN Summit which was held from April 27 to 28, 2015 in Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur.

The ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and related meetings with its dialogue partners, will also be part of the preparation for the 27th ASEAN Summit to be held in Kuala Lumpur in November 2015.

Apart from the 10 South East Asian countries, the six-day meetings will also see participation of ASEAN dialogue partners such as China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, United States, New Zealand, the European Union, Russia and India.

On August 6, 2015, the 22nd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), a key forum for security dialogue in Asia, will take place, drawing together 27 members which have a bearing on the security of the Asia Pacific region.

On the sideline, the Mekong Cooperation meetings and the 12th Southwest Pacific Dialogue Ministerial Meeting will also be held.
