IAEA is an independent organization established in July 1957 to promote nuclear energy for peaceful purposes opposing military purposes.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has been named the external auditor for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the period of 2016-2017.
Chief of the public relation office of BPK R Yudi Ramdan Budiman said the IAEA made the decision in its 59th general session in Vienna, Austria, September 17, 2015.
The session was attended by Indonesias permanent representative in Vienna and a delegation from the National Nuclear Energy Agency (Batan) and the Nuclear Energy Control Agency (Bapeten) and a delegation from BPK led by Prof Bahrullah Akbar.
Bahrullah, representing the Indonesian government, addressed the session of representatives of 164 member countries.
He expressed appreciation for IAEA for its decision in naming BPK as its external auditor.
BPK is committed to giving a highest quality audit of the financial report of the IAEA, he said.
IAEA is an independent organization established in July 1957 to promote nuclear energy for peaceful purposes opposing military purposes.
IAEA serves as an inter governmental forum of scientific cooperation in the use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes in the world.(*)
