Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Lalola Easter, a researcher at the Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), urged to cancel the revision of Law No. 30/2002 on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as it has the potential to weaken the anti-graft institution.

"The ICW has urged all factions of the House of Representatives to cancel the revision of the law," Easter noted here on Wednesday.

She said the ICW had also urged President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to take a firm stand by refusing to hold any discussion on revising the law with the House of Representatives.

"If the government is willing to discuss the revision of the law, it will run counter to President Jokowis agenda of Nawa Cita, which aims to strengthen the KPK," she added. (*)
