Foreign Affairs Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi here on Monday officially kicked off the implementation of capacity building activities for some Asian and African nations.
In her opening remarks, Marsudi emphasized the need to implement the commitments of Asian and African countries leaders in the 2015 Conference through the South-South cooperation.
"Our leaders had reached several crucial decisions during the last AAC. However, the implementation of the agreements is the essence of our strategic cooperation," Minister Marsudi affirmed.
Seven capacity building activities are being organized in tandem this November, while two training programs were held last October.
The seven activities encompass training programs and courses on freshwater aquaculture, entrepreneurship, automotive, tourism for people residing in border areas, archive management, governance and corruption eradication, and also a journalist visit.
The activities are being organized separately in Bandung, Bekasi and Sukabumi in West Java, Semarang in Central Java, Jakarta, and Jayapura.
The course on governance and corruption eradication, however, will be organized in Tunisia.
The participants are from countries including Algeria, Angola, Burundi, Ethiopia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Egypt, Mozambique, Namibia, Palestine, Papua New Guinea, and Rwanda.
In December, Indonesia plans to organize another capacity building activity. (*)
