"The president had decided on which ministers will be assigned additional responsibilities as a link for each state," Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung stated at a press conference after a cabinet meeting in Istana Bogor on Monday.
Pramono revealed that the aforementioned ministers have been instructed to handle problems relating to investment, licensing, and other such matters with the cooperating countries.
The president has designated Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said as a liaison to the countries in the Middle East region.
Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas) Sofyan Djalil has been appointed as a liaison to Japan.
Meanwhile, Minister of State-Owned Corporations (BUMN) Rini M. Soemarmo has been tasked to liaison with China.
Minister of Maritime and Fisheries Affairs (KKP) Susi Pudjiastuti has been appointed as a liaison for the United States and South America.
"In its implementation, Minister Susi will share an assignment with Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Rudiantara," Pramono revealed.
Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong will work towards bridging cooperation with European countries, while Minister of Transportation Ignatius Jonan has been tasked with the responsibility of enhancing cooperation with India.
Coordinating Minister of Political, Law, and Security Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has been appointed as a liaison to Singapore. Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli will work as a liaison to Malaysia.
Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman has been appointed to liaison with Thailand and Vietnam and the other ASEAN countries, except Singapore and Malaysia.(*)
