Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian rupiah registered a drop of 0.63 percent against the US dollar in November 2015, according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

"The rupiah depreciated by 0.63 percent against the US dollar. The lowest level of the average national middle rate was recorded at Rp13,686.26 per dollar in the third week of November 2015," BPS Chairman Suryamin stated at a press briefing here on Tuesday.

The lowest level of the middle rate was recorded at Rp13,790 per dollar in the East Nusa Tenggara province, he revealed.

The Indonesian currency also dropped by 1.83 percent against the Australian dollar in November 2015, with the lowest level of middle rate recorded at Rp10,136 per Australian dollar in the fourth week of November 2015 in Aceh province, he noted.

The rupiah exchange rate against the Australian dollar stayed at the lowest level in the fourth week of November 2015, with the average national retail middle rate reaching Rp9,895.73 per Australian dollar.

The local currency also depreciated by 0.62 percent against the Japanese yen, with the highest level of average national retail middle rate recorded at Rp110.27 per yen in the second week of November 2015.

Among all provinces, the highest level of middle rate was recorded at Rp97.50 per yen in the first and second weeks of November 2015 in Aceh province.

The Indonesian currency also plummeted by 2.59 percent against the euro in November 2015, with the highest level of average national retail middle rate recorded at Rp14,584.78 per euro in the fourth week of November 2015.

Bengkulu province recorded the highest level of middle rate at Rp14,456.50 per euro.(*)
