The meeting was announced in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received here on Monday.
In a bilateral meeting with Marsudi, the Palestinian foreign minister lauded Indonesias important role in hosting the Fifth Organization of Islamic Cooperation (IOC) Extraordinary Summit in Jakarta on March 6-7, 2016, which resulted in support for seeking a resolution to the Palestinian issue.
Foreign Minister Al-Maliki believes that the Indonesian government and people have always shown sincerity in supporting the Palestinian struggle.
As a follow-up to the OIC Extraordinary Summit on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, the two ministers discussed the results of a meeting held by the foreign ministers of the Arab League in Cairo recently.
Both foreign ministers elaborated on the new international mechanisms in resolving the Palestine and Israel issue, moreover, the two ministers also agreed to continue to communicate.
Indonesia has provided strong support for the Palestinian struggle, such as through capacity development programs.
Over the past eight years, Indonesia has provided training to 1,394 Palestinians and has organized 139 programs.
Furthermore, the Palestinian foreign minister delivered a cooperation plan with the Indonesian National Printing Company PT Peruri for the printing of Palestinian passports and identity cards.
The Palestinian delegation will visit Indonesia to further discuss cooperation with PT Peruri.
In addition, during the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed the strengthening of economic cooperation between Indonesia and Palestine, one of them being through the inauguration of the Honorary Consul of Indonesia in Ramallah Maha Abu Sousheh.
Abu Sousheh is known as a successful businessperson and has a wide and strong network.
The bilateral trade value between Indonesia and Palestine was relatively small, but in 2015, it increased by 300 percent, reaching US$3.67 million.
Meanwhile, the inauguration of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia to Palestine was held in Amman as the Israeli government did not provide clearance for the helicopter to fly the minister from Amman to Ramallah.
