Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have put off the arrest of two corruption and money laundering suspects in the case of the sales of state share of condensate from production sharing contracts.

The case involves the Oil and Gas Regulator (SKK Migas), Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry and state-controlled petrochemical company PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama.

The two suspects were former deputy for economy and marketing of BP Migas (now SKK Migas) Djoko Harsono and former chief of the agency Raden Priyono.

The two suspects were released from detention two weeks ago as they often fell ill, Economic and Special Crimes Director of the Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) Brig.Gen. Agung Setya said here on Monday.

The two were put in detention on February, 2016 before they were released two weeks ago for medical treatment by their families.

Another suspect, Honggo Wendratno, the founder of PT TPPI, is still under medical treatment in Singapore.

The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has said the state suffered a loss of around Rp35 trillion in the case.

The police investigators have questioned tens of witnesses from SKK Migas, TPPI, the finance ministry, state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina and the energy and mineral resources ministry.

The case began after direct appointment of PT TPPI in October 2008 by BP Migas to handle the sales of state share of condensate from production sharing contracts for the period of 2009-2010. The cooperation contract of the two state agencies was signed in March 2009.

The direct appointment was illegal- against the regulation of the BP Migas itself No KPTS-20/BP00000/2003-50 on working procedure of appointment of the seller of crude oil/condensate of state share and decision of head of BP Migas No KPTS-24/BP00000/2003-S0 on the setting up of a Team Appointing Sales of state share of crude oil from production sharing contracts.(*)
