Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The chief of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), La Nyalla Mattalitti, who is currently under detention as per the orders of the Attorney General Office, is ready to resign, according to Chairman of Executive Committee (Exco) of the PSSI, Toni Apriliani.

"As we have learnt from mass media, Pak (Mr) Nyalla is ready to resign. Thus, for the sake of the dignity of the football federation, we will immediately convene an extraordinary congress," Toni said here on Wednesday.

La Nyalla Mattalitti has been under detention for 20 days at the Attorney General Offices (AGOs) detention house in Jakarta in connection with a case of alleged graft.

A majority of the PSSI members had expressed the wish to convene the extraordinary congress (KLB), Tony pointed out.

On May 10, the Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Imam Nahrawi had lifted his decree number 01307 that had temporarily suspended the activities of the PSSI.

The minister underlined that he had lifted the sanction to honor the Supreme Courts (MA) decision which had rejected the appeal filed by the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry relating to the PSSIs lawsuit against decree No. 01307 and FIFA.
